Gardener's Dictionary: Manure

Manure (n.): Manure is animal feces used as organic fertilizer and to improve the soil structure and promotes microbial activity in the soil. It adds organic matter and nutrients such as nitrogen. Manure from different animals have different properties due to the animal's diet. Manure can come from horses, cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, bats and many other animals. Usually animal manure needs to be aged before it is used.
