Gardener's Dictionary: Fungus

Fungus (n.): A mold, mildew, mushroom, rust or smut. Fungi are not plants, but instead are parasites of living organisms or feed upon dead organic material. They do not have chlorophyll, true roots, stems and leaves, and reproduce by spores. These organisms are biologically classified in the kingdom Fungi.
