Gardener's Dictionary: Cuttings
Cuttings (n. pl.): A method of propagating plants by cutting a leaf, stem, root or bud from a parent plant. The “cutting” is inserted planted directly into potting soil or left into a glass jar filled with water to start developing roots. Some gardeners use rooting hormones to promote root growth, but this is not necessary. Pothos plants are often propagated using cuttings.
